Again, it is a spectrum of pictures and moods which became (gospel) music here: cheerful shouting and persistent asking, nights of pondering and the rising dawn, stories of comfort and salvation, a God, whose altar is the home even for birds and who is our hiding place himself because we find shadow underneath his wings – but also a God who is angry at unrighteous rulers on earth.
Again, singers from the Gospelkombinat Nordost have put together ideas and texts, choir director Nicole Chibici-Revneanu set them to music. The stories behind the selected psalms can be found in the booklet of the CD; also the texts including translations are available this time. Almost all of the choir members also became solo singers on “psalms & prayers 2”: a polyphonic testimony of a life with God to whom we can call out in every life and faith situation.
